I like TASTEFUL nudes - there are not too many compared with all the crappy naked visual pieces one gets to see online :shakefist: I agree with you

I agree with David. I didn't even know that this type of thing was on DA until I wanted to use a nude and turned off the maturity filter....very shocked.

I prefer suggestivity , of course . the suggestion may be as a way sublimated and transcended to see the nature of things, including the human body. To show bluntly, this is simply down to our animality

I love your words Renard, I totally agree with you. I am trying not to see them. I feel them like an attack to my sensuality, imagination. I prefer beauty, not bluntly show.

I'm totally agree with David's point of view and no matter what, we all, and mainly dA, have to admit that it's a big difference between art and some comparative Anatomy pictures!:)

i do agree, that its not DP but DA, art will always and has always struggled between the thin lines of deciency, be careful please as most of North and South America openly display hard core pornography as do most European countries ... in a socoiety where pornography is openly on display i think you have to be careful that you dont apear condescending when deciding what is decent and not decent

You cant have your cake and eat it, you display nudity and therefore you encourage its publication no matter what the form of it is, most big companies have pension money in pornography because its a seller and has huge profitability, most hotel chains have porn chanels on their tv systems ... why?

please note i'm not getting into the arguement and wont reply to messages from this, you either use nudity or you dont, the thin line "you" choose between what you consider "decent" or not is up to yourselfs but please dont be condescending.

This is your idea and I respect it but you are one of the best photographers of dA and you know the difference of snap shots and artistic nude. It is not a "thin line"

I must admit It made me laugh but I did wonder how he managed to get away with it still being on!!Not a very good advert for Deviant art...and one reason why some people(artists) don't like it!

I completely agree that there's way too much cheap, attention-seeking, emotionless, low-quality images of a sexual nature trying to be passed off as "artistic nude". And I say this as someone who focuses on art nude photography. It's embarrassing to see what my work gets mixed in with.

I'm fortunate that I don't see it very often, anymore. I follow so many people and groups with good standards that it doesn't show up in my inbox, and I do very little searching, anymore. That being said, on the occasion when I do search for something, it's getting ridiculous.

I have no idea what to do about it, though. My best idea is for dA to give in and just create an "exhibitionist" category and give people the ability to filter out that entire category.

I looked at your gallery now. You are so right not to be in the same category with those snap shots. You have an amazing gallery.
I love your idea a lot. It would be so fair to create an "exhibitionist" category that can be filtered.
Because of those photos viewers are changing, too. There is a huge Skye trade I suppose. I don't care but I also get strange notes from trollers. The profile of dA is chaging to porn.
Thank you very much for sharing your views, they are very enlightening.

Being a father of a 10 and a 12 year old, I remain apprehensive in letting them have an account in deviantART. The only reason being that the powers that be are allowing pictures that are not art at all, but of genitalia and sexually suggestive poses. Thank you, Canan, for reading my journal and for your support of this issue...

I dislike to see the genitalia all the time, there are too much and increasing everyday. So the people are changing, too. I love nude art very much but I don't want to see genitalia snap shots.
I thank you David. It is good to know that I am not alone.
Yes, we must save our children until they are old enough to make their own choices.
